Thunderbirds vs Canadians Game Preview

After picking up a 4-3 shootout win over the defending NOJHL champion Cochrane Crunch on Wednesday night at the NOJHL Showcase, the Soo Thunderbirds will be in action at the John Rhodes Community Centre tonight to take on the Rayside Balfour Canadians at 7:00 p.m.

This will be a battle between the top two teams in the NOJHL’s West Division.

The Thunderbirds, who are currently in first place with 20 points, will take on the Canadians, who are just two points behind them.

HEAD TO HEAD

The Thunderbirds have a 2-0 record against the Canadians so far this season.

In their first meeting back on September 9th in Sudbury, the Thunderbirds defeated the Canadians 3-2 at Chelmsford arena.

Avery Rebek scored his first NOJHL goal on the power play that game while goaltender William Anderson made 28 saves for his first NOJHL win.

In their second meeting of the season back on September 28th, the Thunderbirds defeated the Canadians 3-2 in overtime at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Thunderbirds leading scorer Lucas Theriault had three assists that game while Noah Boman scored twice, including the overtime winner.

Goaltender William Anderson made 26 saves for the Thunderbirds win.
