Thunderbirds vs Wildcats Game Preview

After defeating the last place Espanola Express 5-2 last night at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex, the Soo Thunderbirds will be back on John Rhodes ice tonight at 7:30 p.m. against the Elliot Lake Wildcats.

The Thunderbirds, who are entering tonight’s game on a two-game winning streak, will take on the Wildcats, who are winners of four straight.

The last time these two clubs met was back on Friday, February 2nd, when the Thunderbirds lost 4-2 to them at Centennial Arena.

Tyler Malpass and Lucas Theriault had the goals for the Soo while Brett Crook led the way offensively for the Wildcats with a power play goal and an assist.

Thunderbirds rookie goaltender Eric Schuch gave up 3 goals on 39 shots in the loss while Logan Sawka made 35 stops for the Wildcats victory.

BABER IS BACK

After recording two assists in his first game back with the Thunderbirds last night in Espanola, Camaryn Baber will play in his first home game tonight since returning from the Saginaw Spirit.

In four games played with the Spirit this month, Baber recorded a goal and an assist.
