3 NOJHL clubs earn recognition in CJHL rankings

SUDBURY – The latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak top 20 rankings were announced Monday and three Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League earned recognition.

The Soo Thunderbirds were slotted third, the Powassan Voodoos eighth and the Cochrane Crunch 14th in the weekly listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

Despite a rare defeat over the weekend, Sault Ste. Marie still boasts the top winning percentage in the NOJHL at .885 with a solid 23-3-0-0 record.

At 24-4-0-1, Powassan is sporting a .827 win mark while Cochrane is close behind at .783 having gone 22-5-1-2 to date.

The three squads are currently the only ones in the 12-team NOJHL that have 20 or more victories to their credit and have five or fewer losses in regulation time.
