Baber’s the man in Saginaw!

The Ontario Hockey League’s Saginaw Spirit have announced on Thursday that they have named forward Camaryn Baber as their team captain for the 2021-2022 season.

Baber, who is entering his final season with the Spirit, has 18 goals and 53 points in 118 career regular season games played with the club.

Before earning a full-time roster spot with the Spirit in 2018, Baber spent one season with his hometown Soo Thunderbirds back in 2017-2018, where he scored 15 times and set up 31 others in 46 games.

That season (2017-2018), the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native was also named the Thunderbirds Rookie of the Year.

Baber becomes the first Soo Thunderbird graduate to wear the ‘C’ for an OHL team since Colin Miller did with the Soo Greyhounds back in 2012-2013.
