A player from Quebec is joining the Bird nest.

The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Wednesday that they have signed forward and Bromont, Quebec native Ludovic Raymond for the 2022-2023 season.

“We are happy to welcome Ludovic to our program,” said Soo Thunderbirds assistant coach and general manager Jamie Henderson. “Ludovic is an excellent skater and is another player who really fits what we are all about here in terms of being an excellent teammate and a driven young man.”

Raymond, who is a 2004-birth-year forward, spent last season with the North East Scholastic Hockey League’s Le Sommet Faucons Under-18 club, where he notched 2 goals and 3 assists in 9 games played.

The Bromont, Quebec native stands 6’0 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

“I feel excited to be part of the Thunderbirds family and I can’t wait to live this new adventure,” Raymond said.

The last time the Soo Thunderbirds had a player from Quebec on their team, was back in the 2012-2013 season, when they had Quebec City native Joey Couture and St. Nicolas, Quebec native Philippe Cliche.
