Dezzy Cup game raises over $3000.00

On Friday, December 2, 2016, the Soo Thunderbirds Hockey Club and the St Mary’s Knights High School Hockey Team played an inter squad game for “The DEZZY Memorial Cup” in honour of Colin Desmoulin. Colin was taken from us in a tragic motor vehicle accident on November 14, 2016. With the generous support of the community, over $3,000.00 was raised and will be donated to Breaking Away, Colin’s favourite charity. Breaking Away is a registered not-for-profit organization for adults with developmental disabilities in Sault Ste. Marie.

A cheque presentation by the Soo Thunderbirds, St. Mary’s Knights and Sandra and Barry Desmoulin to Breaking Away will take place prior to the Soo Thunderbirds and Blind River Beavers game on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Essar Centre.

All minor hockey players that wear their jersey to the game, will be admitted free of charge.

All St Mary’s students that show their student cards at the door, will be admitted for $4.00.
