He just completed his third season in the American Hockey League, and now he’s getting recognized.

Former Soo Thunderbirds forward and current Syracuse Crunch assistant captain Boris Katchouk has been named to the 2020-2021 AHL North Division All-Star Team.

This past season, Katchouk led the American Hockey League’s Syracuse Crunch in scoring with 34 points, including 11 goals and 23 assists in 29 regular season games.

The Waterloo, Ontario product also went on a 14-game point streak during the 2020-2021 season, which lasted from March 19 – April 25.

Katchouk was just one of six players to be named to the 2020-2021 AHL North Division All-Star Team, joining Zane McIntyre (Lehigh Valley Phantoms), Oskari Laaksonen (Rochester Americans), Cameron Schilling (Hershey Bears), Connor McMichael (Hershey Bears) and Taylor Raddysh (Syracuse Crunch).

Katchouk and Raddysh, who are currently teammates on the American Hockey League’s Syracuse Crunch, were also teammates on the Ontario Hockey League’s Soo Greyhounds during the 2017-2018 season.

In 2017-2018, Katchouk and Raddysh also helped lead the Greyhounds to their best regular season (55-7-3-3) in franchise history.

Katchouk, who has been a member of the Syracuse Crunch for three years now, also played one season with the Soo Thunderbirds back in 2014-2015.

In his only season with the Soo Thunderbirds in 2014-2015, Katchouk finished fifth in team scoring with 45 points, including 18 goals and 27 assists in just 29 regular season games.

That season (2014-2015), Katchouk also helped the Thunderbirds win the Copeland Cup McNamara Trophy (NOJHL Playoff Champions) and a Dudley Hewitt Cup title (Central Canada Junior A Champions).

Katchouk, who just wrapped his third season with the Syracuse Crunch, has also been recalled by the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lighning back on May 13.
