Gold Miners 12th, Thunderbirds 13th in Pointstreak CJHL Top 20 rankings
SUDBURY – The top two teams in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League standings have once again been tabbed in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Pointstreak Top 20 rankings, released Monday.
Coming in at No. 12 in the 129-team CJHL is the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners while the Soo Thunderbirds were slotted 13th in the weekly listings that are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.
Kirkland Lake currently tops the NOJHL East with 58 points on a 28-6-0-2 record while Sault Ste. Marie leads the way in the NOJHL West and the overall league standings with 59 points. The T-Birds boast a 27-4-0-5 mark on the campaign.
Western Canada dominates the top three in the CJHL this week led by the RBC Cup host Portage Terriers, as the Manitoba Junior Hockey League leaders maintained their grasp on No. 1 overall.
A pair of Alberta Junior Hockey League clubs, in the Spruce Grove Saints and Camrose Kodiaks, are next ranked second and third overall respectively.
