Kirkland Lake & Sault Ste. Marie still in Pointstreak CJHL Top 20 rankings

SUDBURY – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced the final edition of the Pointstreak Top 20 for 2014 Monday as the two front runners in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League were once again listed.

Both the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners and Soo Thunderbirds earned recognition once again with the Gold Miners slotted 11th in the 129-team CJHL while the Thunderbirds were tabbed 12th overall in the listings, which are compiled in conjunction with International Scouting Services.

The two clubs are tied for the most points in the NOJHL with 49 apiece with Sault Ste. Marie holding a game in hand.

Kirkland Lake sports a 24-6-0-1 record while the Soo sits at 23-4-0-3.

In terms of winning percentage the T-Birds are at .817 and the Miners .790.

The top three teams in the CJHL remain the same for yet another week as the Portage Terriers (MJHL), Camrose Kodiaks (AJHL) and Penticton Vees (BCHL) were ranked first, second and third respectively.
