Noah Metivier is getting a chance with the Hounds!

It was announced yesterday that Soo Thunderbirds goaltender Noah Metivier has been invited to attend this year’s Soo Greyhounds Development Camp as a free agent.

Metivier, who just completed his first season with the Soo Thunderbirds, finished this season with 20 wins, 3 losses, 2 overtime losses, 2 shootout losses and 6 shutouts.

This past season, the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native also had the lowest goals against average (1.88) and the highest save percentage (.922) among all NOJHL goaltenders.

“Noah had a tremendous rookie season and he continues to improve with each passing season,” said Soo Thunderbirds assistant coach and general manager Jamie Henderson. “It’s great that the Greyhounds are giving him this opportunity and we’re excited for him.”

At this year’s Soo Greyhounds Development Camp, Metivier will also be on the ice with three other players he played with on the Thunderbirds this past season, including blueliners Andrew Gibson and Austin Fellinger and forward Noah Aboflan.

Soo Greyhounds Development Camp will take place today at the John Rhodes Community Centre, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Team White Goalie Session and will end tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. with a Team Red vs Team White Scrimmage.
