He spent the past two seasons playing college hockey here in the Soo, but now he’s bringing his show to the Bird nest!
The Soo Thunderbirds have announced today they have signed 2000 birth year forward Parker Morgan.
Morgan, who stands 5’10 and weighs 180 pounds, played two seasons with the Sault College Cougars Men’s Hockey Club from 2018-2020, where he scored 14 times and set up 20 others in 51 regular season games.
In the 2018-2019 season, the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native also helped lead the Cougars to an ACHA DIII championship title (National Champions).
Prior to joining the Cougars, the 20 year old forward played with the Great North Midget League’s Soo Greyhounds Major Midgets back in the 2017-2018 season, where he scored 13 times and set up 9 others in 32 regular season games.
That year, he also played on the same team as current Soo Thunderbirds Kurtis Rogers, Avery Rebek, Cam Findlay and Caleb Wood.
During the 2017-2018 season, Morgan also got some Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League experience as he played three games as an affiliate player with the Espanola Express.
“Parker brings toughness, skill and leadership to our hockey club, and has clearly learned the game under the tutelage of Mike Hall at Sault College,” said Thunderbirds general manager Trev Zachary.
