Just over a month ago, the Soo Thunderbirds signed Korah Colts captain Kaden Dundas for the upcoming season.
And today, they have inked another player out of high school hockey.
The Soo Thunderbirds have announced today that they have signed local forward Ethan Novello.
Novello, who turned 17 years old back on April 28th, spent last season with the St. Mary’s Knights high school hockey club, where he scored 8 times and set up 4 others in 13 games.
He also helped the Knights win city and NOSSA championships.
The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native stands 5’11 and weighs 180 pounds.
“Ethan brings size and strength to our lineup. He’ll make it easier on his line-mates winning puck battles in the corners and in front of the net,” said Thunderbirds general manager Trev Zachary. If the last name Novello sounds familiar, it’s because Ethan is also the cousin of former Soo Thunderbirds goaltender Frank Novello.
