The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Saturday that they have acquired 1997 birth year left defenceman Jake Reed from the GOJHL’s Chatham Maroons in exchange for player development fee.
Reed, who stands 6’1 and weighs 205 pounds, had 0 points and just 4 penalty minutes through 4 games this season with the Maroons.
The Chatham, Ontario native had 9 goals and 23 points along with 69 penalty minutes through 43 regular season games last year with the GOJHL’s St. Thomas Stars.
Reed is expected to join the T-Birds for tonight’s road game against Rayside Balfour at 7:00 p.m. from the Chelmsford Arena.
