T-Birds drop overtime decision to Eagles

After defeating the Rayside Balfour Canadians 4-1 on Sunday night at the Chelmsford Arena, the Soo Thunderbirds rounded out their six game road trip on Remembrance Day in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan against the Eagles.

In their fifth meeting of the season, the T-Birds fell 3-2 in overtime to the Soo Eagles at the Pullar Stadium.

Jacob Palmerio had a goal and an assist for the Eagles while William Casey also had a multi point night with two assists.

Joseph Bresingham had one assist for the Eagles.

Chris Murphy had the overtime winner for the Eagles while Landon Hubbard also got the scoresheet with one goal.

Fifteen year old forward Keegan Stevenson extended his goal scoring streak to two games with one goal on Friday night, giving him five goals on the year, while Mark Tassone had the other goal for the Soo.

Ryan Waterhouse extended his assist streak to two games with one assist on Friday night while Greg Smith also got his sixth point in his sixth game with one assist.

Kade Phipps made 31 saves for the Eagles win while T-Birds rookie goaltender Dougie Newhouse gave 3 goals on 34 shots.

The T-Birds will return to action at the Essar Centre on Sunday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m. against the Timmins Rock, who are ranked 19th in this week’s Canadian Junior Hockey League top 20 weekly rankings.

FAN APPRECIATION MONTH

Sunday afternoon’s game vs Timmins is the T-Birds first home game of November, and is the first game for Fan Appreciation Month sponsored by The Tech.

Ticket prices:

Adults: $9.00

Seniors & Students: $5.00

Kids 5 years old and younger get into the game for free.

Soo Thunderbirds season ticket holders will receive a free program and all Sault Pee Wee and Sault Minor hockey players will get into the game for free if they wear their team jersey.
