Heading into Sunday evening’s action on a twelve game winning streak, the Soo Thunderbirds were looking to extend it to thirteen straight for the first time since the 2013-2014 season, but had to do it in their first visit to Chelmsford Arena as they took on the  Rayside Balfour Canadians.

It was also the third game in three nights for the T-Birds as they dropped a 4-2 decision to Rayside.

Brandon Grandinetti (power play) and Brett Jeffries had the goals for the Soo while Darian Pilon had one assist.

Danny Lepage scored a pair of goals including a power play marker while Ryan Mooney also had a two point night with a pair of assists. Otis Goldman (power play) and Matt Neault (empty net) had the other goals for Rayside while Brett Whitehead, Joel Lemay, Ryan Erickson, Makenzie MacMillan and Brad Chenier all had single assists.

T-Birds goalie Brandon Gordon gave up three goals on thirty shots while Mackenzie Savard stopped thirty one shots for the Canadians win.

Next action for the T-Birds is Friday, November 13th in Elliot Lake at 7:30 p.m. from Centennial Arena.
