T-Birds Rock Timmins

After picking up his second consecutive shutout Friday night making 18 saves in a 3-0 victory in Kirkland Lake, T-Birds goaltender Nathan Warren was named the game’s first star on Sarurday night making 37 stops in a 6-3 win over the Timmins Rock at McIntyre Arena.

Joey Miller led the way offensively for the T-Birds with a goal and two helpers while Matt Busby (power play), Jaren Bellini (power play), and Brett Jeffries (short handed) all had a goal and an assist each. Caleb Boman and Zach Senecal each had a two point night with a pair of helpers while single assists went to Brandon Grandinetti and Darian Pilon. Matt Caruso (power play) and Matt Mitchell had the other goals for the Soo.

Ryan Theriault led the way offensively with a power play goal and an assist for the Rock while Tristan Salesse and Jordan Rendle (power play) had a goal each. Single assists went to Nick Hautanen, Andrew Castsgna, Kyle Levis, Zach Kercz and Brennan McGuire.

Rock goalie Matt Nixon gave up six goals on thirty one shots.

The Thunderbirds will wrap up three road games in three night on Sunday evening when they take on the Rayside Balfour Canadians at 6:30 p.m. from Chelmsford Arena.
