Legler is becoming a T-Bird!

The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Sunday that they have signed 2005-birth-year forward James Legler for the upcoming season.

“James is another young player graduating from U18 hockey who we are excited to work with this upcoming season,” said Soo Thunderbirds assistant coach and general manager Jamie Henderson. “James is also another player who plays with energy and will fit in really well with our group.”

Legler, who is from Beaconsfield, Quebec, spent last season with the CCSHL’s Ontario Hockey Academy Prep Under-18 team, where he had 3 goals and 7 assists in 17 games.

The 2005-birth-year forward stands 6-feet inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Soo Thunderbirds and am super thankful to the organization for this opportunity,” Legler said. “I’m confident I will learn a lot of the Thunderbirds great coaching staff and I’m looking forward to getting started!”
