The Soo Thunderbirds have announced today they have dealt defenseman Matt Murray to the Blind River Beavers for PDF. Through 19 career games with the T-Birds, the Thessalon, Ontario native had 3 goals and 5 points along with 6 penalty minutes.
“Matthew is a great young player who unfortunately got caught up in a numbers game here this season,” said T-Birds general manager Jamie Henderson. “We wanted to ensure he could continue his development and have the opportunity to play a lot.”
“Matthew is a quality young man who will be missed,” concluded Henderson. “We wish Matt and his family the best now with his new team.”
The 17 year old also attended Soo Greyhounds camp as a free agent this past Summer.
