A player from British Columbia is joining the Bird nest!

The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Friday that they have acquired 2002-birth-year forward Dharan Cap from the MJHL’s Swan Valley Stampeders in exchange for a player development fee.

Cap, who is from North Vancouver, British Columbia, stands 6’3 and weighs 203 pounds.

“We’ve been watching Dharan for a while now and we were excited this week when he chose to come here to join the Thunderbirds,” said Soo Thunderbirds assistant coach and general manager Jamie Henderson. “As the case was with a lot of players, he didn’t get to play much last season, so we are looking forward to bringing him in and letting him get settled with our group.”

In eleven games played this season with the Stampeders, Cap had 1 goal and 14 penalty minutes.

“I am very happy to join a contending team and look forward to supporting an already strong team,” Cap said. “I am BC born and my mother is from Ontario, so I’m looking forward to getting to know this part of the country. I want to bring my energy to the team with fast physical play. I also want to use my size and speed while using my playmaking ability to make smart decisions at both ends of the ice.”
