Thunderbirds training camp kicks off next week

By Matt Stefano

Just over three months ago, the Soo Thunderbirds were crowned Copeland Cup McNamara Trophy champions for the 5th time in franchise history, thanks to a 3-2 overtime victory against the Hearst Lumberjacks in game 7 of the NOJHL final at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.

But now it’s time for the Birds to prepare for what will hopefully be another championship season in 2022-2023.

The defending Copeland Cup McNamara Trophy champion Soo Thunderbirds will be holding their 2022 Training Camp, which will take place from Monday, August 22 – Friday, August 26 at the John Rhodes.

This year’s Training Camp is open to all hockey players born in 2002, 2003, 2004 and in 2005, and players wishing to register must contact Soo Thunderbirds general manager Jamie Henderson by emailing him at jhendersongm@outlook.com.
