Thunderbirds vs Wildcats Game Preview

Thanksgiving weekend continues tonight at the John Rhodes as the Thunderbirds (8-0) take on the Elliot Lake Wildcats (4-6-0-1).

The Thunderbirds, who are coming off a 5-1 victory over the Espanola Express last night, will take on the Wildcats, who are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Blind River Beavers back on Friday.

HEAD TO HEAD

The Thunderbirds are 2-0 against the Wildcats so far this season.

In the first meeting back on September 16th at the John Rhodes, the Thunderbirds defeated the Wildcats 6-1.

That game, forward Lucas Theriault had one goal and three assists while goaltender Colin Ahern made 24 saves.

In the second meeting back on September 23rd at the John Rhodes, the Thunderbirds defeated the Wildcats 4-3.

That game, forward Tyler Malpass scored twice and set up another while goaltender Colin Ahern made 22 saves.

LEAGUE LEADERS

After a three goal and one assist performance last night against Espanola, Lucas Theriault now leads the NOJHL in scoring with 9 goals and 18 points in 8 games.

Second year defenceman Steven Bellini, who had a two assist performance last night against Espanola, now leads all NOJHL defencemen in scoring with 3 goals and 10 points in 8 games.
