Teams will be assigned Wednesday evening and all registered players will be emailed their schedule.

The Soo Thunderbirds Jr A hockey club will be hosting its annual spring evaluation camp May 8-10, 2015 at the John Rhodes Arena in Sault Ste Marie. The camp will be an opportunity to earn a roster spot on the ’15-’16 team and an invite to main camp in August. The camp will feature skill sessions and scrimmages to further your development and show the management and staff if you are ready to join the Thunderbirds hockey club.
The Soo Thunderbirds are a member of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and have a long tradition of commitment to excellence and developing players for the next level. Many of our graduates have moved on to the OHL, CIS or NCAA Division 1 and 3 levels. Close to 100 former Thunderbirds have moved on to play hockey at the next level including Tyler Kennedy, Matt Caria, David Borrelli, Jeff Rainville, Patrick Jarret and Nick Plastino, all whom have moved on to play in the professional ranks. Our staff is committed to ensure you are promoted as a player while you develop your skills as a Thunderbird.
The Thunderbirds compete for an opportunity to attend the Dudley Hewitt Cup by winning the NOJHL and a possible berth in the RBC Cup, the national championship of Jr A hockey in among all CJHL teams. In 2012 the Soo Thunderbirds captured the organizations first Dudley Hewitt Championship in Thunder Bay and finished as semi-finalists at the RBC Cup. The team has been nationally ranked inside the top 20 in the CJHL for the past 4 seasons in including time as the #1 ranked team in Canada during the 2013-14 season. As a Soo Thunderbird you will be expected to continue this winning tradition as expectations will be high each season.
Our players will be expected to be positive role models within the community and will often be asked to attend functions and represent the team at local schools and hospitals. Being a Thunderbird is a great responsibility and our players will also be expected to attend school despite a difficult hockey schedule and perform well in the class room. The Thunderbirds have excellent relationships with the local schools and will assist any player who requires help in certain areas.
Please fill out the registration form and send it along with a cheque for $200 to Soo Thunderbirds Hockey Club. Please include your Jr permission form if applicable.
