After picking up a 6-0 victory over the French River Rapids back on Saturday night in Noelville, the Soo Thunderbirds are now returning to home ice tonight 7:00 p.m. as they will take on the Blind River Beavers at the John Rhodes.
The Thunderbirds, who are entering tonight’s game with 26 points on the season, are just one point behind the Beavers for second place in the NOJHL’s West Division standings.
HEAD TO HEAD
In two meetings against the Beavers so far this season, the Thunderbirds have defeated them both times while outscoring them 6-2 overall.
During this regular season series against the Beavers, Thunderbirds third-year forward Ethan Novello has led the way offensively with 3 points, including 2 goals and 1 assist.
Novello, who is entering tonight’s game with 5 career goals, has so far scored 3 times in his career against the Blind River Beavers.
FROM THE LAKE TO THE RIVER
Since coming over to the Blind River Beavers in a trade from the Red Lake Miners back on October 19, 2002-birth-year forward R.J. Dickie has recorded 3 points in 4 games as a member of the Beavers.
Dickie, who is entering tonight’s game with 2 goals and 1 assist in 4 games played with the Beavers, is also currently riding a two-game point-scoring streak.
Before getting traded to the Beavers, Dickie had 4 goals and 11 points in 10 games played this season as a member of the Red Lake Miners.
DOUBLE DIGITS FOR TRUCHAN
In last Saturday’s 6-0 victory over the French River Rapids in Noelville, Thunderbirds rookie forward Jackson Truchan finished the night with one goal, giving him goal No. 10 on the season.
Truchan, who scored his 10th goal of the season last Saturday in Noelville, is currently leading all NOJHL rookies this season in goals.
