Thunderbirds trade Dutkiewicz to Timmins

By Matt Stefano

The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Wednesday that they have traded 2001-birth-year defenceman Cameron Dutkiewicz to the Timmins Rock in exchange for a player development fee.

Dutkiewicz, who played last season with the Soo Thunderbirds, led all NOJHL defencemen in points (19) goals (9) and power play goals (6).

The Timmins, Ontario native was also named the Thunderbirds Best Defenceman during the COVID Cup series against the Blind River Beavers back in March.

“Cameron requested a move to play his final season back home in Timmins. They have a great program up there and we wish him all the best next season and we thank him for his time with the Thunderbirds,” said Thunderbirds general manager Jamie Henderson.
