NOJHL names its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that goaltender Kolton Bourret (Soo Thunderbirds) along with defencemen Noah Janicki (Hearst Lumberjacks) and Brayden Hindman (Iroquois Falls Storm) been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending March 17.

KOLTON BOURRET, (G) SOO THUNDERBIRDS: Winning each of his two starts last week, Bourret wrapped up the time frame with a crisp 1.50 goals-against average, along with an impressive save percentage of .957.

In all, the 18-year-old from Thunder Bay, Ont., only allowed three pucks to get past him on 70 attempts in victories versus the rival Soo Eagles and on the road against the Timmins Rock.

Recording wins in each of the final seven starts, Bourret wrapped up the regular season portion of his slate, second among all NOJHL netminders in average at 2.28 as well as third in both triumphs and save mark at 22 and .922 respectively. He also tied for second in shutouts with three.

NOAH JANICKI, (D) HEARST LUMBERJACKS: The Hearst captain collected six points, in helping lead his club to a trio of victories in their final three regular season match-ups.

The veteran blueliner, who hails from Barrie, Ont., had a half-dozen assists during the period, while extending a consecutive game point streak to six in succession along the way.

Janicki finished fifth in offensive numbers among NOJHL defencemen with 45 points, on nine tallies, two of which were game-winners, and 36 helpers as he established personal single-season bests in goals, assists and points.

BRAYDEN HINDMAN, (D) IROQUOIS FALLS STORM: Providing a pair of three-assist performances, Hindman aided in the Storm securing three of a possible four points during the week that helped Iroquois Falls secure a postseason berth.

Hailing from Corvallis, Montana, the 19-year-old rearguard set-up a late tying tally in regulation, in a shootout setback against Hearst, and also assisted on the game-winner against Elliot Lake.

Getting stronger as the campaign progressed, Hindman doubled his season point total, averaging over a point-per-game in his final eight contests, heading into the playoffs.
