Petingalo to get his No. 9 raised to the rafters

He played five seasons with the Thunderbirds from 2006-2011, and he will now see his number raised to the rafters at the end of this week.

On Friday, February 22nd, the Soo Thunderbirds will honour their former captain Jerry Petingalo, who will officially have his No. 9 raised to the rafters at the John Rhodes.

Petingalo is the Thunderbirds all-time leader in points (217), assists (131) and games played (192).

He also holds a pair of team playoff records, including most career playoff assists (31) and most career playoff points (52).

Fans can see Petingalo get honoured at the Thunderbirds upcoming home game this Friday night, when they take on the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners at 7:00 p.m. at the John Rhodes Community Centre.
