Rotiroti is going to be a Raider!

The Soo Thunderbirds have announced today that forward Alfred Rotiroti has committed to play for the Rivier University Raiders hockey club in NCAA Division 3 hockey for the 2022-2023 season.

“I am extremely excited and proud to commit to the Raiders NCAA program for the upcoming season,” Rotiroti said. “After speaking to coach Keating and Lebowit, I felt Rivier would be the crucial step in my development as a hockey player. My goal is to provide an immediate impact on the team’s offensive line. I look forward to using the knowledge and development I’ve learned from Cole Jarrett and Jamie Henderson with the Soo Thunderbirds and taking it to Rivier next season.”

Rivier University, which is located in Nashua, New Hampshire, is a private Catholic liberal arts school.

“Business and finance will be my focus,” Rotiroti said. “I recently obtained my Illinois Real Estate Broker licence in my home town of Chicago.”

Rotiroti, who is a 2001-birth-year forward from Chicago, Illinois, currently has 7 goals and 3 assists in 13 games played this season with the Soo Thunderbirds.

The American-born forward also began playing this season with the MHL’s Yarmouth Mariners, before being acquired by the Thunderbirds back on November 13.

“Alfred is a driven young man who works really hard on and off the ice,” said Soo Thunderbirds general manager Jamie Henderson. “He has been a big part of our group since being acquired earlier this season and we look forward to following his career.”
