T-Birds acquire Jay

The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Saturday that they have traded 1997 birth year forward Turner Santin to the MJHL’s Virden Oil Capitals in exchange for 1997 birth year defenceman Brendan Jay.

Santin, who left the T-Birds after three games played, had 2 goals and 2 assists along with 10 penalty minutes.

Jay, who is coming over to the T-Birds, stands 6’3 and weighs 210 pounds.

The native of Vancouver, British Columbia had 0 points through 3 outings this season with Virden.

Jay is expected to make his debut with the T-Birds tonight in Sault, Michigan.
