With the Soo Thunderbirds getting set for their home game against the Cochrane Crunch tomorrow night at the John Rhodes, the club has announced today that they have added another forward to their roster.
Today, the Thunderbirds have acquired 2004-birth-year forward Alex Remenda from the CCHL’s Brockville Braves in exchange for a player development fee.
“Alex is a player that we recruited last spring, but he ultimately decided to start this season in the CCHL,” said Soo Thunderbirds assistant coach and general manager Jamie Henderson. “We are excited to have Alex join our group. He will bring a lot of energy and he is a player who is hard to play against for opposing teams.”
In 8 games played with the Braves this season, Remenda had no goals, no assists and no penalty minutes.
Prior to this season, the Thunder Bay, Ontario native spent the 2021-2022 season with his hometown Thunder Bay Kings Under-18 AAA team, where he tallied 8 goals and 17 points in 45 regular season games.
During the 2021-2022 season, Remenda also suited up for one game with the SIJHL’s Thunder Bay North Stars.
“I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Soo Thunderbirds organization, and I can’t wait to get started and meet the guys,” Remenda said.
Remenda, who stands 6-feet inches tall and weighs 175 pounds, will wear No. 17 for the Soo Thunderbirds.
