After dropping a 2-1 decision to the Cochrane Crunch on Saturday night in Cochrane, the Soo Thunderbirds were in Timmins on Sunday afternoon to wrap up their three-game road trip as they took on the Rock.
The Thunderbirds, who entered Sunday afternoon’s game with a record of 0-2-0-1 in their last three games, lost their fourth straight game on Sunday afternoon as they dropped by a score of 3-2 against the Timmins Rock at McIntyre Arena.
Nick Smith led the way offensively for the Thunderbirds with a goal and an assist while Daniel Bazarin also got on the scoresheet with a power play goal.
Richards Landing native Nolan Ford set up one goal for the Thunderbirds.
Karter Renouf (power play), Tyler Gilberds and Brendan Boyce had the goals for Timmins while Owen Shier, Riley Robitaille, Evan Beaudry, Derek Seguin and David Laroche all got on the scoresheet with one assist each.
Thunderbirds netminder Colin Ahern gave up 3 goals on 33 shots in the loss while Rock goaltender Tyler Masternak made 25 saves for the victory.
The Thunderbirds, who have now played three road games in three nights, will be back in action on Friday, October 4th, when they visit Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to take on the Soo Eagles.
Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. at the Pullar Stadium.
