The Soo Thunderbirds have announced on Monday that 1997 birth year player Ethan St. Germain, who split time playing both forward and defence, has committed to the club.
The Marquette, Michigan product, who stands 5’8 and 166 lbs, had 17 goals and 44 points through 51 games this season with the Soo Indians Midget AAA club along with just 4 penalty minutes.
“The Thunderbirds organization has a reputation for being honest and for developing players both on and off the ice,” said St. Germain. “I’ve had the opportunity to watch them and I’m really excited to join the team.”
“I’m a consistent player who plays responsible on both ends of the ice and I’m not afraid to take a hit to make a play,” concluded St. Germain.
“We are excited to welcome Ethan and his family to the Thunderbird program,” said T-Birds general manager Jamie Henderson. “The Soo Indians do a great job developing players and Ethan was coached by Pat Carricato and his staff who understand the level of play we demand as a member of the Thunderbirds.”
“With so many graduating players, competition for playing time will be up to each individual player’s commitment over the summer months to train and be ready for what will be in all likelihood a very intense camp,” concluded Henderson.
With the commitment of St. Germain, he follows T-Birds goaltender Brandon Gordon, who played with the Soo Indians in 2014/2015.
