By Matt Stefano

The National Hockey League Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings were officially released on Wednesday afternoon for the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, and former Soo Thunderbirds forward Tyler Savard has made the list.

Savard, a former Soo Thunderbird who is currently in his first season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Soo Greyhounds, is ranked 183rd overall.

So far this season in the Ontario Hockey League, Savvy has put up 5 goals and 7 assists in 20 games as a member of the Soo Greyhounds.

As a member of the Soo Thunderbirds back in 2019-2020, Savard put up 19 goals and 31 points in 43 games played.

Savard, who also scored 2 overtime goals with the Thunderbirds during the 2019-2020 season, currently shares the Thunderbirds record for most overtime goals by a Thunderbird player during a regular season.

The other Thunderbird players who share that record with Savard are Jeff Rainville (2003), Jerry Petingalo (2011), Geoff Gieni (2011) and Eric Hillock (2014).

The 2022 NHL Entry Draft will be held this year from July 7-8 at the Bell Centre (Home of the Montreal Canadiens) in Montreal, Quebec.
